pip ii overview
The PIP II (Personal Identity Profile II) is a unique self-assessment tool which is based on the Seven Rays, part of the Ageless Wisdom, and used to help people gain insight into themselves, their purpose and life direction. It helps them bring out their strengths and understand their limitations, leading to an appreciation of their own individual qualities and identity. We also have SpecPro, which is a sub-set of the PIP I, and, although not researched as well, may be better for those who are not familiar with the rays.
The PIP II follows the success of the original PIP I, developed by Michael Robbins, President, University of the Seven Rays, and author of Tapestry of the Gods and Infinitization of Selfhood. The original PIP has been taken by over 2,000 individuals world-wide and has been instrumental in helping those individuals determine their dominant rays.
Once there was a sufficient sample the PIP I began to be subjected to analysis. The initial analysis consisted of each question measured against the combination of all others for that particular ray, ANOVA and factor analysis. Some information gained was which questions were responsible for the majority of variance, the percentages of response, and the mean response to each question.
It also became clear that some questions were not performing. Some failed to discriminate between those on the different rays, i.e. those on different rays were just as likely to answer True to the question as the person on the particular ray for which the question was intended. Some caused parallel correlation, i.e. those on one or two other rays tended to have a response as affirmative to a given question as those individuals for whom the questions were intended. Some questions tended to elicit a more affirmative response from individuals on a certain ray than it did for individuals on the ray for which the question was created. And some, although discriminating the individuals who had a given ray from those who did not, did not do so clearly or definitely enough.
The development of the PIP II came about by statistically analyzing 1,677 of those individuals who had taken the PIP. Of these individuals it was found that 701 had rays which could be independently determined based on lectures, workshops, individual counseling sessions, etc. A statistical analyze was then conducted based on this information and the certainty with which the independent information offered.
An analysis was then completed for every ray for every question for every vehicle—or 5,040 tests were performed. It was determined through the analysis which questions were statistically valid using both t- and f-ratio’s. Each question was then ranked based on their validity for each ray. The final questions for the PIP II were then chosen based on this ranking.
The PIP II is different from the PIP I as: the core test is shorter (92 questions); a number of questions are slightly reworded; inverse correlation is used; certain questions have been reassigned to different rays; A’s and B’s are balanced by new questions; the time dimension is expanded; Traits to Transform list is expanded; Highest Aspirations is more thorough; a miscellaneous session has been added which will start to give us a handle on where an individual is on the path; and the demographics section is larger.
The advantages of PIP II are: it is more accurate;
contrasts between Now and Formerly are illuminating regarding the trends
of ray elevation and diminution; the method of display are clarifying;
A’s and B’s are far
more indicative and useful; and we will understand a bit more about where the
person stands in spiritual orientation and development.
