rótova
I wanted to go to the festival in Valencia, but I could not find an affordable hotel, thus I ended up staying at a wonderful place in Rótova, near Gandia, by the name of Finca Los Pinos.
The proprietors, Evelyn & Peter, were very helpful. In requesting a reservation at Finca Los Pinos I expressed my concern that Valencia was too far away. Evelyn provided me with time-tables for the train runing from Gandia.
I could not get a train at the last minute so I called Evelyn to inform her
my change in plans and stated which bus I would be on. While talking to Evelyn
she asked how I was enjoying Spain and I mentioned that I had found it a bit
difficult to eat as I was a vegetarian and did not speak Spanish.
Both Evelyn and Peter met me at the bus station. Evelyn stated that some of
the other guests were eating at a particular restrauant which she had called
to confirm they could fix a vegetarian meal and did I wish to join them. I
said I did. The result was good company (2 gentlemen from England and a couple
from Germany - who had actually gotten a table for 5) and the best meal I had
during my entire stay in Spain.
The rest of my stay at Finca Los Pinos was equally wonderful as both Peter
and Evelyn helped to make sure that I got the train to Valencia, a ride back
to Finca Los Pinos', and a ride to the bus station for my next destination.
The following are some pictures I took while on a short hike in the mountains around Rótova.
