I was fortunate enough to live a few years in Denmark. I never did learn Danish. The reason? Almost everyone speaks English and thus I was not required to speak Danish. In fact it was difficult to get many Danish to speak Danish to me as they wished to practice their English.
Denmark is a wonderful country and I have many fond memories of it. Of course all countries have their problems, but I could easily live there.
