event - rural germany - 1500’s
Lives Affected: B., F., H., R., T. I've included only the immediate family here, possibly I should include some friends also.
Event Summary: R. was raised in a small rural community of about 500 people in northern Germany. R was a blacksmith, a leader of the community, married B., and they had three children—F., H., and T. F. was the “difficult” one. Still not sure of names, I’ve looked at old German names, but than what do I do about, say, Greek names. Perhaps I should just use first initials. Also I think I need to go into some more detail.
- B. died of natural causes. F. refused to go to the funeral. R. confronted F. afterwards while in the blacksmith shop. F. picked up an axe and killed R. by plunging it into R.’s chest.
- Perhaps with this event F. either needs to run away from the village or is hanged.
Event Reflections:
- R. was killed by F. with an axe. Note that in Event - Rural Germany - 1400’s that R. killed F. with an axe. R. pondered between lives whether he could have handled the situation with F. better. In fact, R. pondered whether he could have raised F. better.
- B. was the eldest daughter of R. & H. in Event - Rural Germany - 1400’s. B. accepted responsibility in that life, but still had problems with F. in this life. She also pondered between lives whether she could treated F. differently.
- H. was R’s wife and B.’s mother in Event - Rural Germany - 1400’s. Here she is a daughter with R. & B. trying to raise her. And again H. is losing a loved one to violence. In this case H. is feeling that she has been abandoned.
- T. ends up accepting the responsibility for taking care of H. and helping H. deal with this event.
